A First Flip Through My Sketchbook
Three months came and went like a dream. And just like when I have a dream, I am left trying to describe it. No matter how captivating it was in the moment, or how vividly you experienced it, no one wants to hear you try to explain your dream. You try to recall just how it happened, try to find the perfect words but they fall flat. So, any time I'm asked how my trip was, I wish I had my sketchbooks.
During my time traveling across South America, I always carried my sketchbook. I kept my watercolor set in tow too, for quick jots and long layovers alike. I filled one and a half books, still short of the ambitious three that I bought for the trip (one book per month, I guess?). But even now that I'm home, I'm developing paintings in my sketchbook from photos I took along the way. I guess I'm still trying to fully recall the dream that it was.
Here's a first flip through, a chance to show you a glimpse in the best way I know how. I'm not stopping here, friends. I will be the girl who can't stop talking about that time she went away for a while. So enjoy the images until I find the right words for it.
